The rest of the lamp wall — beyond 07’s bring-up LEDs.

07_alu already carries opcode, flag, and operand LEDs for bench debug. This lot is the machine-scale display path: scan, timing, and the visual surface TomatoOS splashes on boot.

Tomato has always been visual—segment displays on the transistor board, a 60×80 tile map in memory, a polling machine that turns framebuffer writes into light. Lot 08 is where that becomes a dedicated PCB: matched decode enables, one-hot scan like the bus arbitration story, and the “top screen” real estate TomatoOS uses for logo and menu before Sudoku, Snake, and Tetris.

Relationship to other lots

03_memory owns the tile map and VGA timing schematic. 08_display is the lamp wall and panel drivers that make human-scale output pleasant—not just logic-analyzer proof. Expect overlap in documentation until routing splits the sheets for manufacturability.
